Duck ID with Savannah Coastal Refuges Complex

  • Savannah National Wildlife Refuge 694 Beech Hill Lane Hardeeville, SC, 29927 United States (map)

PRIOR REGISTRATION REQUIRED --
Join Ogeechee Audubon at the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge to learn how to identify ducks that have stopped at the refuge to overwinter.

We will first start at the Beech Hill Pavilion (education building across the visitor center) to learn basic duck ID and then shuttle to the entrance of the Laurel Hill Wildlife Drive or impoundments north of 170 if the wildlife drive is closed for reparations during the event.

We will be touring the impoundments in an open air trailer. Be prepared to wear appropriate warm clothing. You are welcomed to bring your personal binoculars or we will have some for you to borrow.

Because we will be filling up open air trailers, seating will be limited and only those that have registered for this training will be invited to attend the "wagon tour". Please call the Savannah National Wildlife Refuge to register for this program. 843-784-2468

This program is completely free and open to the public. If children are attending, they must be accompanied by an adult.
